DIRTY TRICKSTER CORPORATE SPY by Martin Kelly #review #bookreview

Book description

Not until Dirty Trickster, Corporate Spy does a memoir exist by one of the principal Watergate saboteurs-provocateurs that exposes the full extent of the insalubrious side of politics and negative campaigning. And that is not all: After Watergate, Kelly became a corporate security consultant that provided undercover agents for client companies to spy on their employees. Kelly also specialized in eavesdropping detection, which took him around the world searching for clandestine listening devices for clients such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bob Hope, Ferdinand Marcos, the Miami Dolphins, Eastern Airlines and even suspected drug dealers. He secretly provided debugging training for entities such as IBM, Revlon, the U.S. Navy and dozens of others.

During President Nixon’s second term when the Watergate scandal erupted, Kelly teamed with Donald Segretti in a wild series of underhanded capers that created havoc in the Democratic presidential primaries. Kelly and Segretti turned a fundraising dinner for front-runner Senator Ed Muskie at the Washington Hilton into absolute chaos; hired a University of Miami coed to strip naked and parade before Muskie’s hotel; released two mice and a bird that threw a Muskie press conference into total confusion; organized fake luncheons, fake press releases, and other unscrupulous acts. The aim of the Nixon White House and Committee to Reelect the President was for the dirty tricksters to sow discontent among the Democratic primary candidates so they would blame each other for the dirty tricks, making it more difficult for them to unite in the general election against Nixon. The author was one of only three witnesses who testified specifically about dirty tricks before the Senate Watergate Committee.

Initial chapters reveal how dirty tricks were covertly planned and executed, how Kelly dealt with special prosecutors, investigators, Karl Rove, Watergate Judge John Sirica, the FBI, an inebriated Senator Ted Kennedy, the seven U.S. Senators on the Senate Watergate Committee, Bernstein and Woodward, Lesley Stahl and others in the media. Mid chapters expose inside secrets on successful tactics for public-office seekers or those climbing the rough-and-tumble steps of internal party politics.

In final chapters, Kelly unveils the widespread corporate spying that is going on in America to this day, with amazing examples from his security consulting career as a covert industrial undercover agent and secret mystery shopper who spied on all levels of employees. Kelly also fully discloses his role as a polygraph examiner and interrogator with hilarious anecdotes as well as how polygraph can be beaten. Even more controversial examples are revealed from Kelly’s specialized international work as a detector of clandestine listening devices, complete with the tools and tricks of the trade.

With an intriguing yet amusing style, Kelly names names and holds back nothing in Dirty Trickster, Corporate Spy.

I always like spies because it give a spark of adventure and to know that this story is real is even more amazing .

This is a story of Martin Kelly who is a corporate spy . This book is about what goes behind the scene of political elections . The method they use is quite cheap and tricky.

The interviews in this book is quite entertaining for to know the real perspective of what goes inside there mind because these are some high class people playing major role in politics .

After you read this book I am sure you got to know a whole range of knowledge which you know did not existed .

Sourpuss by Merricat Mulwray #review #bookreview

Hilarious , Dark, absolutely a page Turner.

DESCRIPTION

Sourpuss is a blistering satire of the depraved and entitled culture that pervades college campuses.

Mallory Wahl loathes the campus party scene . . .

She’s sprinting through her senior year obsessed with winning a spot on the US Olympic track team. But she runs straight into a hurdle in the form of fraternity president Graham Patterson, an intern assigned to help her recover from an injury – one she blames on him.

Once Graham’s therapies begin to work, Mallory pretends to fall in love but traps herself in her own scheme and tailspins deep into his debauched world. When a scandal erupts which threatens to shatter her Olympic dreams once and for all, Mallory must finally face the dark truth she’s been running from since freshman year.

In the style of a ’90s dark comedy flick, Merricat Mulwray’s debut brings an insightful and humorous perspective to the reckless behavior college students perpetually get away with. Mallory, herself a flawed heroine, is backed by a self-serving cast of athletes, party girls, townies, and fraternity brothers so hilariously dark that the book will leave you wondering if anyone ever gets what they deserve.

This story is dark comedy and it’s totally hilarious and moving . This book is about American college life and campus life which is fascinating for me . The character is great and well written you won’t be disappointed by it . It’s a book where you want to hate the character but you can’t because you want to sympathise with them at same time also.

When you open a book you want to intrigued by the story line or fine paragraph to continue on….

And this book start with welcome to hellhole. Absoulety what I want to hear about the college lifestyle and the first line kept me captived.

And I like this type of book where author can depict real life encounter and this book totally depict it .

Finders keepers by Russ colchamiro #Review

A wonderful read with great imagination.

About book

In the spirit of The Good Place, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, author Russ Colchamiro has gone back to the future to deliver his wildest, funniest novel yet–the new and updated Sci-Fi/Fantasy tale Finders Keepers: The Definitive Edition.

When a jar containing the Universe’s DNA falls from Eternity, bumbling backpackers Jason and Theo find their loyalties–and sanity!–put to the test. Unaware that a motley crew from another realm is chasing them across the globe to retrieve that radioactive vessel, these intrepid new friends are forced to contend with passion, responsibility, and their own mortality–and the fate of the Solar System, which hangs in the balance.

Traversing Europe, New Zealand, and the backbone of Eternity, Finders Keepers: The Definitive Edition ultimately asks one simple question: Is the life you’re living the life you actually want . . . or does the Universe have more to offer than you can possibly imagine?

IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: The Definitive Edition of Finders Keepers has undergone significant changes from the original version. Consider the original as the Raw & Uncensored version (rated ‘R’)–which is no longer available– while this new updated and revised Definitive Edition is ‘PG-13’.

Finder keeper is my first sci-fi book after such a long time . This book is very humorous and fast moving . It has such a great imagination about galaxies which I totally enjoyed it.

IN some here around galaxy Eternitarians live who have a job of population planets . They build earth like planet system on a new planet . It’s a story about two couple( Donald and Danielle) who were given a job to successfully place a universe DNA on it’s place but they lost it and somehow it came to earth . It’s a story about they journey to earth and finding that DNA .

This book is a page Turner it would definitely not let you go anywhere until you finish it . I launched a lot while reading this. I definitely recommend it for everyone who is in need of a good laugh . I totally enjoyed the character and story line.

Author write pretty well and knows how to keep all side characters interlinked which each other till end. This book is a mixture of sci-fi , romance , action and humor which I cannot predict it from it’s cover .

Looking forward for it’s next series eagerly.

Author Interview of Finders keeper by Russ Colchamiro #blogtour

Q&A with Author Russ Colchamiro

Q: Your new book Finders Keepers: The Definitive Edition is set in Eternity, as well as several European cities, and New Zealand. Have you ever been there?

Russ: Finders Keepers is loosely based on a series of backpacking trips I took through Europe and New Zealand, set against a quest for a jar that contains the Universe’s DNA. So…yes! I’ve traveled a fair bit. Not to the cosmos… but still!

As for Eternity… it’s a cosmic realm not reachable or traceable through any star map. Think of it like Hollywood, only… instead of the movie business, everyone in Eternity either directly or indirectly supports or is engaged with the creation, design, and maintenance of the Universe.

Q: You named your book Finders Keepers: The Definitive Edition. Why ‘Definitive’? Have there been other versions?

Russ: I first released Finders Keepers in October 2010, which meant I wrote it during the late 1990s. I was really happy with it… then, including getting write-ups in Publishers Weekly and having paperbacks in Barnes & Nobles. But in revisiting the novel these years later, I saw passages that needed to be cut, sections that could easily be combined, and a few character traits I wanted to approach with a bit more nuance.

On a larger scale, when looking at these adventures as a series—Finders Keepers kicks it off—I wanted the first novel to more closely match the tone, pacing, length, and style of books two and three—Genius de Milo and Astropalooza—especially as the original Finders Keepers was a bit rough and raunchy in places. I came to accept that some of the more raucous, sex comedy elements in the original might be distracting from the rest of the story. This version is tighter, cleaner (think ‘PG-13’ instead of ‘R’), and nearly 15,000 words shorter, without sacrificing any story or character development.

In fact, a recent Amazon review put it this way: To draw an analogy between the two editions, Hitchcock once said about his two versions of THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH: “Let’s say the first version is the work of a talented amateur and the second was made by a professional.” Same can be said for Colchamiro’s redux of FINDERS KEEPERS. I think that pretty much nails it.

Q: What genre do you write and why?

Russ: For the last decade I’ve focused almost entirely on science fiction and fantasy because it’s so much fun! The stories I write, and the worlds I create, are limited only to what my crazy brain can come up with, so it allows me to take readers on journeys that more ‘Earth-bound’ genres simply can’t accommodate. But now I’m shifting a bit more into mystery, detective, and crime fiction. In fact, I’m in finalizing the first book in a Finders Keepers spin-off series based on hard boiled private eye Angela Hardwicke, who appears in the second and third books in the Finders Keepers series. I love writing this character. I plan to write many books with her in the lead.

Q: Do you write every day?

Russ: If you mean ‘clacking the keys’ then no, not every day. More like 4-5 days per week depending on how much energy and focus I have. But I consider ‘writing’ to also encompass thinking about stories, plotting them, working out character traits, and details, etc. In which case, yes, I ‘write’ in some capacity virtually every day.

Q: Where do you write?

Russ: Typically, at my home office, in the basement. I need a quiet environment, so I can concentrate. And yet… you can often find me out walking my dog at night, where I live in New Jersey, and walking back to Penn Station in NYC on my way to and from the office, talking to myself, working out plots and dialogue. I often put in my earbuds, so people think I’m talking to someone… which is true. I’m talking to myself! LOL. I often need to ‘hear’ my ideas spoken aloud to get the best feel for them and spot the elements that don’t work or make sense. So, if you see me walking around town gesticulating wildly and talking frantically… I’m not crazy. Well… not entirely.

Q: If you were stuck on a deserted island, which 3 books would you want with you?

Russ: Lamb, by Christopher Moore. The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger. The Stand, by Stephen King.

About author

Brenda Drake grew up the youngest of three children, an Air Force brat, and the continual new kid at school. Her fondest memories growing up is of her eccentric, Irish grandmother’s animated tales, which gave her a strong love for storytelling. With kids of all ages populating Brenda’s world, it was only fitting that she would choose to write stories with a bend toward the fantastical for both younger readers and the young at heart. And because she married her prince charming, there’s always a romance warming the pages. Her favorite books are The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, Kings Row by Henry Bellamann, and Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. When she’s not writing, she hosts workshops and contests for writers such as Pitch Wars and Pitch Madness on her blog, and holds Twitter pitch parties on the hashtag, #PitMad. In her free time, Brenda enjoys hanging out with her family, haunting libraries, bookstores, and coffee shops, or just reading someplace quiet and not at all exotic (much to her disappointment).

The Purple Haze (The Western Lands and All That Really Matters Book 1)

Being a princess is hard. Especially when you’re just a little OCD.

And your twin goes missing.

Sure, Princess Eloise is Future Ruler and Heir to the Western Lands and All That Really Matters. And yes, her life is structured by Protocol and full of little “habits” that help her get through the day.

But none of that matters when her twin sister disappears.

Eloise has to suck it up to try and get her back.

She sets out with her champion (a nervous, yammering chipmunk), her guard (the human incarnation of rectitude), and two horses (one an equine perfection, the other on a vow of silence). Like a kind of fantasy-world Gilligan’s Island meets Discworld, a quick little two-day jaunt turns into traipsing across realms. sniffing out a trail that is getting colder by the minute.

The Purple Haze is a humorous novel set in a world of weak magic, talking animals, and wäÿ töö mänÿ ümläüts. If you like quirky, clever characters, lively dialog, and fun, ripping yarns, then you’ll love this fabulous debut novel from Andrew Einspruch.

The Star of Whatever (The Western Lands and All That Really Matters Book 2)

The slightly OCD princess was doing just fine, thanks.

Then she got thrown to her death.

That might have put a crimp in things.

Princess Eloise, Future Ruler and Heir to the Western Lands and All That Really Matters, swallowed back her “habits” and went after her missing twin sister.

She found her.

Awesome!

And then they both got chucked into the mysterious, magical, deadly Purple Haze.

Less awesome!

While her champion (a nervous, yammering chipmunk) and her guard (the human incarnation of rectitude) rot in prison and her two horses desperately try to find some way to help, Eloise and her sister go deeper into the Purple Haze to discover the source of the inner tug they both feel.

The Star of Whatever (book two of The Western Lands and All That Really Matters series) is a humorous, Discworld-ish novel set in a world of weak magic, talking animals, and wäÿ töö mänÿ ümläüts. If you like quirky, clever characters, lively dialog, and fun, ripping yarns, then you’ll love this fabulous second novel from Andrew Einspruch.
