Man’s relationship with technology is complex. We always invent technology, but then technology comes back and reinvents us.”
These lines from Where Will Man Take Us? capture the essence of the book. In the 7 million years since our descent from the tree, we have evolved more than any other species. But never in our history has the transformation been this rapid or its consequences so dramatic.

As we speak, our biology is merging with technology to trigger birth of a new species. Emerging technologies are redesigning us to such an extent, that we might soon seek to be more than just human. We might soon have god-like powers and wish to wield them.

Where Will Man Take Us? looks at the primary drivers of this change – artificial intelligence, bio-engineering and nanotechnology. It looks at how in our quest to bring human-like cognition to AI, we are forced to look at ourselves and answer some of our oldest questions – what is it to be human, what is self-awareness, what is consciousness.

AI’s ability to crunch data and math’s ability to find patterns, could also help us unravel some of our greatest mysteries – astrology, aliens, the secret to unbroken eternal happiness. The book also looks at the advancements in genetics – the ability to edit the genome truly marks the beginning of man’s next avatar.

All of this is impacting some of our greatest ideas and institutions. Love, sex, marriage, jobs, currency, privacy, democracy – all of these are changing around us. Each of us, is part of this monumental transformation.

This generation now has the ability to bring a quantitative, algorithmic, scientific lens to questions that man has used philosophy and religion to answer, since forever. This unbelievably exciting time, is what you will read about in Where Will Man Take Us?

The first person who will live to be 150 years old has already been born.

The screen that we peer into will soon be within us.

We could soon be taking happiness pills before breakfast.

The perfect partner might need to be charged before bed.

This is a new world we are walking into. And the man who began this journey won’t be the man who ends this journey. Where Will Man Take Us? explores the changes technology is bringing about in us-as a society and as a species. What will the next generation turn into, what will it be like, how will the new Adam and Eve live and love?

In this book, Atul Jalan tackles nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and genetics, seamlessly weaving the future of technology with the changing dynamics of human love, morality and ethics.

The book where will man takes us ? Is all about technology and mechanics. You obviously get know a lot of new things about it and trust me it will take u a lot of time to finish this because

Firstly you need to have basic understanding of science and mechanics and if don’t have like me you need to Google things time to time .

Even though author took very much consciousness about explaining things ,still it lacks something for a layman to read this book .

One thing I like about this book tells you a lot of things .Also I like how author start this book by evolutionary process , then moved on to Neolithic phase , then homosapiens the wise man . Author also takes about first female hominid that is Lucy .

I like how author give little background about every thing from a board game to new technology .

The book divided into five section each section divided into various chapters in which author gives enclosure of his thinking about every single aspect which intrigue him like nanotechnology, genetics, computing ,robotics ,etc.

I like cover of this book it perfectly suits it very simple and unique . This book however only talks about postivity of technology .

I also like quotes from scientists , can’t say one or two because I like most of them .It’s soo relatable .

A must read for tech lover .
